karma

after so many gender and global cinema classes, i realise it's a bad substitution for a usp module. i'm upset. i generally enjoy usp modules...because i leave the class feeling mentally exhausted but satisfied. the gender class is way below the standard of classes i'm used to. it's not that the people in the class aren't bright, they probably are. but the instructor doesn't poke and prod the brightness out of people. she doesn't stimulate discussions..and for the most part, people in the class don't talk much. and and and, i don't understand the point of some of the movies we've seen. serious, if it should be race and global cinema, name the course as such. don't trick people into thinking we'll be discussing gender when for the most part, we discuss race, race, and more race(ial differences between groups).

and i think, as karma would have it, because i'm substituting a usp class for one of a much lower level here, i'm gonna have to go back to NUS to pay my dues by having to take bioinformatics back at NUS (the module i mapped isn't offered in spring). imagine, biology and computers! what are the chances of me passing such a terrible class? sigh...

i am peeved. i don't like karma much.
